Link is integrating with Klarna to provide a seamless "buy now, pay later" checkout experience in the US, allowing consumers to pay later in as little as one click. This feature enables your customers to add Klarna to their Link accounts, giving them the option to use Klarna for payments within the Link checkout experience.
Similar to other Klarna or Link transactions, once the payment is approved, the full amount of the order, minus fees, is made available to your Stripe account up front. Klarna collects the purchase amount from your customer, including any future installment payments, if applicable.
All Klarna transactions processed through Link are priced at the same rate you pay for Klarna transactions outside of Link.
The Klarna on Link integration is currently invite-only, and participation is subject to these terms. No code changes are required to your existing integration. Enable Link in your payment method settings and this feature will automatically be available as a payment method for your customers.
You can enable and disable the Klarna on Link private preview experience in your dashboard. You may also reach out to support+link-beta@stripe.com to opt out.
When a customer with a Link account checks out for the first time, they will see an option to Pay later using Klarna. Just like the current Klarna experience, they will be redirected to Klarna’s site, where they can select their preferred payment method, connect their Link and Klarna accounts, and then return to your website to complete their order.
For customers who have previously connected their Klarna account, checking out is even simpler—they’ll have the option to Pay later and use their Klarna account with just one click.
Your customers can check out with Klarna as their payment method outside of Link. Additionally, customers can use their Link account to checkout without connecting a Klarna account.
Klarna transactions processed via Link are attributed to Link in your dashboard.
Klarna is available within Link for businesses that use your platform. The current Klarna pricing that is applied to your customers will apply to their Klarna transactions within Link. No code changes are required for your existing integration.
